Moe

His hand is tanned and leathered from use
the hands of a man that's been on the loose
Fingers on triggers pulled with such force
that action that's demanded from wars

(chorus)
A mountain of a figure obscured from view
he's a quiet man his essence subdued
his life us now simple he lives on his own
yet Moe is not a man alone

I sat in his kitchen and had a few beers
heard all the stories of the places and faces he’s seen
Like the one time down at ball town sitting at the bar
and this sharp tooth woman sat down next to him and said
I know everything about your life
and the hair on the back of his neck stood up
and she salivated... I know all your memories
**and the picture frame inside his mind starts rattling pictures of his past
but it wouldn't last. He snapped out of it, looked at her and said
those are not my memories, they are my brothers...
say how do you know all this stuff about my brother....
and then she just disappeared into thin air....
Moe is not a man alone...

(chorus)
A mountain of a figure obscured from view
he's a quiet man his essence subdued
his life us now simple he lives on his own
yet Moe is not a man alone

there’s Betty in his dreams and all around him
and the birds are chirping outside the window
and their eatting all the fat off the potroast that he made last night
in his garage..... you can hear the rain falling on a tin roof
he put on his boots, headed for the door
to get some firewood for the cookstove
and he stops on his way back to look up at the starts
and he wonders... where they are

(chorus)
A mountain of a figure obscured from view
he's a quiet man his essence subdued
his life us now simple he lives on his own
yet Moe is not a man alone
One massive hand takes off his cap
the other lands on top of his head
gravity and friction begins  the slow slide
it pauses to cover his eyes
sandpaper palms in side to side motion
scrapes over whiskers pulling his skin
he rounds out the action with a fraction of a sound
one carried off by the wind
