Our 6around1 Studio has been a busy place.

In between our travels we have been in the studio putting finishing touches on our next single release "Someday Fade".  It's just about ready - we'll keep you posted!

We are also beginning to focus on our next full length album to be released in 2018. We've begun the process of laying down the skeleton tracks.  This is a fun process for us and always exciting to see how the songs tell us how they want to come to life.

Throwback:  When we recorded our first self-titled CD in 2013 with Jay Pinto - he said to us: "you guys could do this" - referring to the recording process. We jumped in with four feet and have not looked back! -- Thanks, Jay for that!

What do you think of our new logo?

Stop by one of our shows and we'll share our new LOGO STICKERS!

We have more exciting dates to share upcoming in the latter part of August and into September - we'll let you know of them in a couple weeks. If you don't want to wait! .. or would like more information and directions to our shows - check out our SCHEDULE page.

Hope to see you soon!

and, as always,

We just returned to the Pacific NorthWest after taking the last month to visit family in Michigan and South Dakota. We came away with new "farmer tans" from helping to plant vegetable gardens and building a "hail resistant" (we hope) raised garden.

We played a few new venues and received some very kind and enthusiastic responses to our music.  THANK YOU all for coming out to give a listen to a couple "outta-towners"!

For those who haven't been to our site lately - you can now listen and/or download all of our releases and we have lyrics available to read while you listen.  When you go to the SONGS page - then click on any song to listen and/or download!

We continue to record and will be releasing digital singles throughout the year.  These singles will be released to our newsletter fans first!  We'll keep you posted...

Thank you, again, for your support of independent music makers!

This was taken at Crazy Horse Monument in South Dakota, USA.  Interesting tidbit.. To the left of his face is a large open space where his hair will be carved. All four heads at the Mount Rushmore monument would fit into that space!  Crazy Horse's face is 90 feet tall.  This monument receives no federal or state funding.

New Release: Live at The Black Dog - 2/14/2017

Jan 20th, 2016, we played a short set at The Black Dog in Snoqualmie, WA. Prior to this, life took us in other directions away from being able to have the time to play out live. So we were really excited to get back out. When we were done, Mary and I felt that it was a pretty good set. Found out later that Jay Pinto had recorded the songs and so we were happy to get the raw tracks sent to us.

9 days later we were releasing our 2nd EP "Purgatory Street", so our attentions went to promoting that and continuing on with our summer tour. These live songs stayed simmering on the back burner until New Years 2017. Pulled them out and mixed/mastered them in our RFQ 6around1 Studios and released them between our studio singles "Heal Your Ways" & "Someday Fade"... Enjoy!

My birthday story for you... "Heal Your Ways" - 4/16/2016

This is my birthday story for you. This year, Tumbleweed Festival has a songwriting contest around the theme "Come Together". We wanted to have a song for this and so we were writing while we are on the road on our other job. The song had to be received by April 16th... my birthday!

Completed the song on April 13th & did not feel comfortable recording in a motel room with the sounds of my voice bellowing the halls... especially when you have headphones on and all they could hear is my singing with no musical or rhythmic context...

So taking a break from work, I went in our car that was parked in the empty part of a mall parking lot.... Laid down the guitar track, then did the vocals, the texted Mary to take a quick break to come out and lay down the percussion track.... Mary grabbed our cardboard box that carries our ionizer and used that to lay down the groove... Did a couple takes and she went back to work... I edited, mixed, and mastered the track with 90 minutes to get to the Post Office. If I did not make it, it would not be delivered in time with 2 Day Express...

Love technology today where we can literally record songs with this kind of quality in a car parked in a parking lot.... oh and it was raining too! If you listen carefully, you can hear rain hitting the car roof at times smile emoticon

Enjoy our new song called "Heal Your Ways"..... studio version will follow later this summer
